This Privacy Statement explains how Crescentic LLC ("Crescentic", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects information in connection with Gyrence (the "Service"). We aim to collect as little as is necessary to operate the Service securely and reliably.
1. Information We Collect
Account information
When a workspace is provisioned for you, we store your email address, a hashed password (if you set one), the workspace(s) you belong to, and your role within each workspace.
API usage logs
For each API call made with one of your workspace's keys, we record: the endpoint invoked, the target URL submitted, the HTTP status returned, the credits consumed, latency, the fetch tier used (HTTP or browser), the API-key prefix, the timestamp, and any error code. These logs are retained for billing, abuse prevention, debugging, and product analytics.
Content retrieved on your behalf
When you call Fetch, Gyre, Search, Map, or Extract, we retrieve publicly accessible content from the targets you specify and return it to you. We do not persistently store the body of retrieved pages, and we do not attempt to identify, enrich, or catalogue personal information that may appear in that content. Short- lived caching may occur for operational reasons (for example, to deduplicate within a single traversal) and is purged shortly afterwards.
Operational metadata
Like any internet service, our infrastructure logs IP addresses and request metadata for security, rate limiting, and abuse prevention. These logs are retained for a limited operational window and are not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.
2. How We Use Information
- To provide, maintain, and operate the Service;
- To meter usage, calculate credits, and bill workspaces in accordance with their plan;
- To detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms of Use;
- To respond to your support requests and to communicate operationally about the Service;
- To improve the Service, including aggregate analysis of how endpoints perform.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use your data, your API traffic, or content retrieved on your behalf to train third-party models.
3. Data Processors
Crescentic LLC relies on a small number of vendors to operate the Service:
- Supabase — managed Postgres, authentication, and file storage. Hosts your account record, workspace memberships, API keys (stored as salted hashes), and usage logs.
- Cloudflare Workers — runs the application edge runtime and routes incoming requests.
- Brave Search — invoked when you call the Search primitive; your query is sent to Brave to obtain results.
- Lovable AI Gateway — invoked when you call the Extract primitive; the page content and your extraction prompt are forwarded to a large-language-model provider to produce structured output.
We currently do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, advertising SDKs, or any third-party behavioral-tracking technologies on the Service.
4. Retention
Account records and workspace memberships are retained for the life of your account. Usage logs are retained indefinitely by default in order to support historical billing reconciliation and security investigations; we may shorten this window in a future revision of this Statement. Retrieved page content is not persistently stored.
5. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect data in transit (TLS) and at rest (encrypted managed Postgres). API keys are stored as salted hashes; the plaintext value is shown only once at the time of creation. Access to production systems is limited to authorized Crescentic personnel.
6. Your Rights
You can request the following at any time by emailing operator@gyrence.com:
- Access / export — a copy of the personal information we hold about you and an export of your workspace's usage logs;
- Correction — to correct inaccurate account information;
- Deletion — to delete your user account. Note that workspaces and historical usage events are retained for billing, audit, and abuse-prevention purposes; we will revoke your access and remove personally identifying account data on request;
- Restriction / objection — where you have a basis under applicable law to restrict or object to certain processing.
Residents of jurisdictions with statutory privacy regimes (such as the EEA, UK, or California) may have additional rights; we will honor them to the extent applicable law requires.
7. International Transfers
Crescentic is based in the United States, and our processors operate infrastructure in multiple regions. By using the Service you understand that information may be transferred to and processed in the United States and other countries.
8. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
9. Changes to This Statement
We may update this Statement from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-product notification.
